I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from Northern Kentucky University where I graduated summa cum laude and a master’s degree in English from Xavier University.    Prior to teaching, I spent 15 years in the corporate setting where I gained considerable and varied experience in professional writing, including writing, editing, and proofreading for a pharmaceutical journal.

During my successful teaching tenure, I spent 7 years teaching business writing to business, marketing, and communication majors as part of the professional writing program in the Department of English at NKU.  My bringing the “real world” to the classroom was proven invaluable to both the participants’ work and their venture into the business world.  I conducted my classes in simulated workplace settings in order that participants begin to understand the pressures and constraints of writing in real-life corporate America.  After all of these accomplishments, my natural next move was to segue from that training into the conference room and the boardroom.
